Kindergarten Program
Ages 5-6 years | Preparing for Elementary & Beyond
Our Kindergarten year is a culmination of the Montessori Primary experience. Five and six-year-olds become leaders in the classroom while advancing their academic skills and preparing for the transition to elementary education.
The Kindergarten Year
In Montessori, the kindergarten year is special. Children who have been in the program become mentors to younger classmates while tackling increasingly complex academic work. This leadership role builds confidence and solidifies their learning.
Kindergarteners work on advanced mathematics, reading comprehension, creative writing, and in-depth cultural studies. They're well-prepared for elementary school academically, socially, and emotionally.
Academic Focus
Reading fluency and comprehension strategies
Advanced mathematics including fractions and decimals
Creative and expository writing skills
Research and presentation projects
Scientific inquiry and experimentation
World geography and cultural studies
Leadership & Social Development
As the oldest in the classroom, kindergarteners naturally become role models and helpers. This leadership experience:
Builds confidence and self-esteem
Reinforces their own learning through teaching
Develops empathy and social responsibility
Elementary Readiness
Our kindergarteners graduate with strong academic foundations, excellent work habits, and social-emotional skills that serve them well in elementary school and beyond.
We work with families to ensure a smooth transition to their chosen elementary program, whether public, private, or continued Montessori.
